Welcome to the Department of Otolaryngology

Our department is committed to enhancing the health of people through education, biomedical research, and clinical programs. In 2002, we celebrated our 100th anniversary as a department. Currently serving as Head is Dr. Bevan Yueh. Some of our past leaders have included Dr. Lawrence Boies (1955-67), Dr. Michael Paparella (1967-84), Dr. Arndt J. Duvall III (1984-89), Dr. George Adams (1989-2006), and Dr. Robert Maisel (2006-2007). Throughout our history, we have continued to pursue excellence in education, research, and patient care.

Our outstanding residency training program attracts young physicians nationally and internationally. Through research in the University of Minnesota Graduate School, residents can obtain a master's or Ph.D., in otolaryngology. The program is well rounded, training academicians and practitioners who successfully seek career opportunities after completing the program.
