Clinical Interests: Dr. Hilger joined the department in 1980 with a focus on aesthetic and reconstructive facial surgery. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of aesthetic surgery including face lift, blepharoplasty, brow lift, otoplasty and skin resurfacing, however, he has a particular interest in rhinoplasty surgery to improve both the form and function of the nose. Dr. Hilger sees patients at the University of Minnesota , but also in an off campus office in Edina. Through that office video imaging is available which is a valuable education tool. It also allows the patients to preview the kinds fo changes intended with aesthetic surgery. He also performs a large volume of reconstructive procedures including post-traumatic reconstruction and reconstruction of soft tissue defects following resection of cutaneous malignancies.

Clinical Interests:Dr. Hilger's interests include clinical research in facial plastic surgery.
